The Belvedere is a baroque palace which was built by Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt (1668-1745) for Prinz Eugen of Savoy. The Belvedere consists of two complexes of buildings - the upper more larger and the lower, smaller Belvedere - and is located in the 3rd district of Vienna. A beautiful garden sourrounds the palace. The Austrian treaty was signed in the upper Belvedere on May, 15th 1955.
Das barocke Schloss Belvedere in Wien wurde von Johann Lucas von Hildebrandt (1668-1745) für Prinz Eugen von Savoyen erbaute. Die Anlage besteht aus zwei Gebäudekomplexen - den oberen, größeren und den unteren, kleineren Belvedere - die von einem schönen Garten umsäumt werden. Das Belvedere befindet sich im 3. Wiener Gemeindebezirk “Landstraße”, in unmittelbarer Umgebund zum Südbahnhof, dem Gürtel und dem Arsenal, unweit vom 1. Bezirk entfernt. Am 15. Mai 1955 wurde im Oberen Belvedere der Österreichische Staatsvertrag unterzeichnet.
